the carousel fell

the missing teeth of barkers
buried in the ground

the scare o plane
and bumper cars
are still

the flying horses
are all out of sorts
no shrill

the laughing lady
went quite crazy
now lives alone

behind the arcade
where music played
thru a megaphone

the matterhorn
was torn down just
before the plague

at the stroke of midnight
the last carny ghost dances
on a wooden leg
